breakandenter: 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY including Steve Cowan (nebula), live!

A Fun Fact about breakandenter …

breakandenter has supported over 106 Producers, DJs & VJs in 5 years.

106 is more than just the number of a classic Roland Juno synth.  It is, in fact, an incredible legacy that few event organizers could possibly boast after even 20 years.  The unparalleled passion and effort that the breakandenter crew have given the Toronto techno scene in the past 5 years will be celebrated this Saturday, December 8, at b&e’s unique staple venue: SPK at 206 Beverley Street, otherwise known as The Polish Combatants Hall.

BREAKANDENTER + BOX OF KITTENS = 2×4 YEAR ANNIVERSARIES

With Nebula (live PA), DJs Jamie Kidd, Martin Fazekas, Hali, Mike Gibbs, Fabio Palermo. Saturday (December 10) at Polish Combatant’s Hall, 206 Beverley St. $15 advance tickets at boxofkittens.ca. $20 at door with BOK pin or RSVP to rsvp.breakandenter.net.

Why you should go: Speaking of family affairs, this shared anniversary party is a celebration of thriving underground/warehouse promotions crews breakandenter and Box of Kittens, and all that they have contributed to this city’s techno and tech house community. Both crews have staunchly stuck to a format of presenting local, national and international artists in unique venues — i.e. rarely in licensed dance clubs — with full, proper sound and creative visuals. Through their events, they’ve helped build a new late-night network and a solid foundation for highlighting the local. The programming here reflects this, with artists playing tag-team sets on a huge soundsystem nicely contained within a soundproof venue. Hurrah!
