More Info
Despite the loss of Radiolaria, Manifest lives on, and is embarking on a search for a new space to serve as a focal point to develop our community. On September 2nd, embark on a trek to a galaxy far, far away (that’s the east end, by the way!), where outer space will meet inner space.

We will journey beyond 1166 Dundas W (at light speed, no less!) to Planet Zion. A zero-g feast for the senses awaits us. Intergalactic sights and sounds inside; astral travel opportunities outside. Most importantly, an all-night chance to DREAM together as we raise funds for a space of our own.

For those of you who are new to our mission, we intend to establish a multi-use community arts centre: a space for creation, workshops, community building, health and wellness services, and social support.

This event is – more than anything else – the official launch of our membership drive! Memberships to the Manifest Collective will be sold at Space Quest and will get you in for FREE to the event. (See below for further details.)

MANIFEST MEMBERSHIP INFO:

Manifest, and the new space that we are creating will be a membership-driven organization. That means that we will exist as a community-arts space to service the community made up of our members. These members will elect the executive of the space, will essentially decide what the space does, how it functions, and what its priorities will be. Members will also have access to the space for their own projects.

In return, all members will be expected to pay yearly dues.

Yearly membership will cost $100, with a sliding scale option to a minimum of $30.

Those who choose to pay $30, or any amount less than $100 are instead responsible for 1 hour of volunteer work for every $10 not paid. Thus, a $30 membership would come with the responsibility to contribute 7 hours of labour to Manifest and/or the new space.

Membership can also be paid quarterly. Thus, a $100 membership can be paid in $25 installments every three months.

For now, we will take cash, but as soon as our website is finished, we will accept online payments with the option of automatic quarterly payments.

Membership gets you:

  • The knowledge that you are directly participating in financing/running a member driven community arts center that our community really needs. The main reason we are asking for memberships now, is that your membership dues (as well as Manifest Fundraisers) are raising the near $12000 we need to start a new space)
  • A vote on the general assembly of members, that ultimately makes decisions on the direction of the space, and also elects the executive who run the space day to day.
  • $5 off all Manifest events. – This basically means free access to all the weekday events that we plan on hosting, from movie nights to workshops, to music nights, etc… (these will otherwise cost $5), as well as $10 admission to Manifest parties, (including free access to the daytime workshops).
  • Use of the space (when we have it) for your own projects, crafting and art-space, meeting space, etc… for free, whenever it’s not being used for events.
  • A membership talisman identifying you as a member.
